On March 7, 2021, Oprah Winfrey, the infamous talk show host, conducted an interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

This interview aired on CBS but it can be found all over now. The interview itself lasted two hours which was longer than everyone believed it to be, but after watching two hours makes sense seeing as there was a lot to cover.

Speaking with Markle alone at first, Oprah had split the time in half. After they were done Harry was brought in to join them.

Many topics were discussed, ranging from the royal family to Archie and his title or as we have seen lack thereof and the personal lives of Meghan and Harry. The interview itself was incredibly unfiltered and no topic was left undiscussed.

Oprah gave the couple a chance to discuss everything they were dealing with and gave her audience a chance to gain valuable insight on what is going on inside the royal family.

This interview, as expected, faced a lot of backlash and there were many clashing opinions but while there was backlash there was also loads of support.

Famous actor and a friend of the couple, Idris Elba spoke out by saying, “I will say that everyone has to have their opportunity to speak up about what they feel, you cannot take someone’s voice away, that’s what we have to communicate.”

This interview was powerful and revealing and potentially quite dangerous for the royal family. Meghan and Harry spoke, sharing accusations and facts that were shocking and eye opening.

At the end of the interview Meghan finished by saying that their life now is “greater than any fairytale you’ve ever read.”

It was a captivating story, one that was horrible and honorable and everything in between, that interview allowed for the couple to be honest and open with the world and to themselves about the hardships they faced. Even if it is just clips the interview is definitely worth the watch.
