Godzilla vs Kong released on March 31, 2021 in theatres and on HBO Max. Godzilla returns to defend his title of King of the Monsters against the challenger Kong and it’s time to pick a side.

Godzilla is basically a dinosaur the size of a skyscraper that has atomic breath. What’s not to like. This movie continues Godzilla’s story from his previous films from the MonsterVerse, Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).

Kong on the other hand is faster, smarter, and has opposable thumbs, giving him the ability to hold weapons. This is also Kong’s second appearance in the MonsterVerse, following Kong: Skull Island (2017). He was much smaller back then. Ah, they grow up so fast. Kong has also already defeated Godzilla in the original 1962 crossover movie King Kong vs Godzilla.

Godzilla easily won round 1 by almost drowning Kong, before the military intervened to save Kong.

Raymond Espinoza an Alta Loma Senior said, “I couldn’t believe that Kong almost died in their first encounter, but Godzilla did have the advantage of being in the ocean.”

Kong has the advantage in round 2 since they are now on land and has a new battle axe and knocks Godzilla out cold.

“I knew Kong was gonna bring it in the second round, especially since he got that new axe from Hollow Earth”, said Raymond

In round 3 Godzilla recovers and nearly kills Kong securing his victory in the title defense.

Damien an Alta Loma Senior and Varsity Football player also said that he felt bad for Kong, because “Godzilla was way stronger.”

Kong of course recovers and eventually teams up with Godzilla to defeat a common enemy. Godzilla fans are sure to love this movie. Kong fans are advised to bring a tissue. Nonetheless Godzilla vs Kong is an epic battle for the ages and is available in theatres and HBO Max
