Drake’s new album ,“Certified Lover Boy ” was released on Friday September 3rd. It became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day. The album is 21 tracks coming in at 86 minutes long. The record has had a-lot of buzz around it ever since. This album was still a let down. There was hope for something new and interesting, but it was an album that sounds like any other project of his. This isn’t to say the record is completely devoid of any enjoyment. There were some really strong stand out tracks. The aforementioned standouts are Papi’s Home, Way 2 Sexy, Knife Talk, IMY2, Race My Mind, No Friends in The Industry, Pipe Down, Tsu, and Fair Trade.

The problem is the tracks that are enjoyable are only 9 out of the 21 songs. The project is just way too long and repetitive. Also,it’s almost impossible to not mention the hilarious album cover that at first most people thought was a joke, but no it remained the same on release. There’s also some really bad lines in the album, the most infamous being, “said that you a lesbian, girl, me too”. All Around’, “Certified Lover Boy” is not Drake’s best work and is a largely inoffensive album that might get better on more listens, but for now the album receives a 5 out of 10.

Junior, Alex Lopez said, “I don’t know, I just like the album, there’s nothing I really dislike about it. I like “Knife Talk” and didn’t like “Champagne Poetry” on the album. overall I’d give it a 7 ½ out of 10.”

Junior Eddie Lakkees said “I like the overall vibe of it and don’t have any big problems with it. I liked “Way 2 Sexy” on the album and didn’t like “Champagne Poetry”. Overall it’s pretty good and I give it an 8 out of 10. “
