The Alta Loma High school homecoming game was on the day before Homecoming, on Oct. 8. The kickoff was at 7:00 pm, and the game lasted for a little over 2 hours. It was held in the ALHS stadium, and we played and won an easy game against Rialto High School.

The game was played by ALHS’s varsity football team. Many had been looking forward to this event for a while. There was, however, a 60 percent chance of rain at that time. Luckily, though it was no doubt cold, the sky remained clear for the entirety of the game.

As such, the game went on as normal. At the end of the first quarter, Alta Loma was up 24-0. The lead then continued, and the score was 44-6 at the end of the second quarter. After the second quarter, the halftime show was held, where Sandy Ortega was announced as homecoming queen.

“Our school won the game by a very large margin,” said Joseph Quiroz, a freshman at ALHS who attended the game.

After this the rest of the game went underway. In the second half, Rialto was able to make up some points. They still lost, however, by a large amount, the score at the end being 51-22.

“Both teams put in full effort until the last minute,” said Quiroz.

After the game, many students went to Legends before going home and resting. After less than 24 hours, the school hosted the first Homecoming post-COVID.
