On Tuesday October 5, Sonny the cuckoo Bird, mascot of Cocoa Puffs, was fatally injured in a plane crash. From information currently available, Sonny was struck by a plane that departed from LAX shortly after 10:00 p.m.

Friends and family mourn the loss of a beloved bird. Sonny’s wife and children were distraught after hearing the horrifying news. Many other mascots in the industry have come out and said a few words about Sonny’s recent passing.

“I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the death of a longtime best friend. I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Sonny’s untimely death. I know a lot has been going on recently, and now this, it’s just… it’s not great,” commented Tony the Tiger, mascot of Frosted Flakes.

“He is our real-life Icarus, but instead he flew to close to the stars. If only the sun was out, then maybe the plane would have seen him,” stated Horatio Crunch, Cap’N Crunch mascot.

“Oh no, that’s so sad. Well, anyways, I’ve got somewhere to be right now,” stated Cinnabun, the mascot of Trix.

No comments have been made from Count Chocula, a close associate of Sonny, since the allegations.

Toucan Sam, a cousin of Sonny’s, is currently taking the reins organizing a funeral service. Wally Bear of Honey Smacks, another close friend of Sonny’s, is also taking a similar role as Sam, even though they aren’t professional funeral celebrants.

“Dig ‘Em, I mean dig it. We’re going to need a very special place to lay him to rest” stated Dig ‘Em, the retired mascot of Honey Smacks.

Fans of cocoa, breakfast, and cereal worldwide held a candlelight vigil in memory of our cuckoo friend.
