It is going to be almost a month since the tragic event that happened at the music festival Astroworld, here is what happened. Travis Scott does a yearly festival called ´Astroworld´ which is based on his most popular album. He planned this festival for November 5th to November 6th 2021.

The festival took place on the 5th of November at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. The tickets sold out in just an hour after tickets went on sale back in May. Around 100,000 tickets were sold and more than 50,000 actually went to the event. This concert did not only have Travis Scott performing, it had 5 other artists which included Drake in the lineup. Later on at 9pm Travis Scott went on stage, this is also when all the chaos started to begin. When he hit the stage, people started to push others to get to the front which led to people getting trampled and getting many head injuries.

People have said that it was so hard to breathe because of how overcrowded the venue was. 25 people had to rush to the hospital and ambulances had to drive into the crowd because of how bad it was getting. Travis Scott and the organizers of this event did not stop the show since they did not know what was happening.

“I want to make it clear that we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show, and in no world we would continue filming or performing.” stated by Kylie Jenner on CNN News

The event then ended at 10pm later that night. 300 were sent to the hospital, 23 needed transport, 11 were in cardiac arrest and 10 people had sadly passed. The ages for the ones who had passed ranged from 9 to 27 years old. Some people who are still hospitalized are fighting for their lives.

“I had my son on my shoulders waiting for Drake’s appearance, I had began to be crushed until I couldn’t breathe. I passed out and I woke up and my son was gone.” stated by Ezra Blount’s father on Buzzfeed News.

People who had attended or who had lost a loved one at this event have sued a lawsuit against Travis Scott and even Drake. Scott has stated that he will cover the funeral expenses to those who have passed. The police of Houston are still investigating this tragic event.
