Fast food rivalries are a common thing in our society. People will compare and contrast, and defend the places they love all the time. A common one includes Chick-fil-A and Canes. Both have different flavors and aspects to their meals and sides. Though they both specialize in chicken, one of them is clearly the better choice.

“Chick-fil-A is overrated and expensive”, says Brooke Maxwell, senior at ALHS. “Their chicken nuggets have a weird, chewy, and disgusting part that you can’t swallow every time… plus Canes’ sauce is way better.” This is true, Canes has created an iconic sauce that is a mix of tangy and salty, and goes well with pretty much everything that comes in a Canes combo.

“Canes is sooo good” says Cadence Burdwell, junior at ALHS. Quite honestly, even Canes’ menu has more flavor than Chick-fil-A’s. The first thing you see on Chick-fil-A’s is a boring chicken sandwich, but on Canes’ menu, you are exposed to their whole meal. You can see the buttery Texas toast, the texture of the chicken strips, and the gloss of their sauce. They say first impressions are everything; if that’s so, Canes wins there too.

Some argue that Canes has more of an iconic chicken tender taste and feel, whereas Chick-fil-A specializes in chicken patties/nuggets, which are definitely not the same. It’s a little harder to compare when their items aren’t necessarily the same, but chicken is chicken.

Plus, Canes is open everyday of the week. Who knows if you may be craving chicken on a Sunday? Canes will always be there for you.
