The ALHS baseball teams have officially begun playing their games.

Practices have been going on for a few months now, as a tryout was held back in September and again in January.

Overall, the varsity team is 2-3-1, with the tie being due to a game being played in the dark. The JV team is struggling, but working hard and looking to get on track this season.

“I’m actually back now, my healing didn’t take too long and I was able to start my first game of the season last Friday against Rancho(High School),” said Tucker Kraushaar, when asked about an injury he had suffered before the season started. Kraushaar is a member of the varsity team.

“I’m very confident, our team has exceptional talent. I believe we’ll make it to CIF this year provided we don’t get a ton of injuries or have too many ineligible players,” Kraushaar also said.

Jonathan Jimenez, who is also on the varsity team, talked about their competition this season. “Ayala is good and so is Bonita, but we can beat those good teams if we can (play well).

“The games have been pretty close, really good games,” Jimenez said, when talking about the competitiveness of the games the teams have played thus far.

With the teams set and games underway, many of the players are hoping they have a chance to make it to CIF and go far into the season to represent ALHS. Students are encouraged to come out to their games.
