This year’s VMA’s was considered amazing! The host for this year’s VMA’s was actress and singer Keke Palmer. Many awards were given out this year, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Collaboration.

People who performed for this year’s Video Music Awards were Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, BTS, CNCO, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Maluma, Roddy Ricch, Miley Cyrus and The Weekend.
This year’s VMA’s were held in New York, New York City on August 30th at 8:00pm. Not only were the VMAs held in New York City, they were held in the city’s Radio City Music Hall, where most of their ceremonies are held there.

Even though COVID-19 is happening right now and stuff with quarantine, they still managed to have the VMA’s. MTV had confirmed that the 2020 VMAs ceremony will just be held outdoors, but with no live audience. Instead of having a live audience, they decided to have a virtual audience. The reason why MTV does VMA’s is because they want to honor those who have the best music videos.

Freshman Kaylie Simpson said, “The Video Music Awards were outstanding honestly, I’m kind of shocked because they were still able to do them even though Covid is happening right now!!”

“I actually find it super cool that they still were able to do the Video Music Awards during Covid and even though Covid is happening, they still manage to make this year’s Video Music Awards fun for everyone, even through a tv,” said senior Tyler Angelo.

Hopefully next year, the VMA’s will happen in person!
